First PostDoc
Having defended my doctoral thesis at Ulm University, it’s time for a new project: We have recently moved to the UK and I am excited to start my first PostDoc position at the CRUK Beatson Institute for Cancer Research, in the Computational Biology group of Prof. Crispin Miller.
getITD for FLT3-ITD-based MRD monitoring in AML
Our assay for FLT3-ITD detection and monitoring, for which I developed the accompanying analysis program getITD, was published in Leukemia!
Clonal evolution patterns in acute myeloid leukemia with NPM1 mutation
Our work on the clonal evolution of NPM1-mutated acute myeloid leukemia (AML) was published as an original article in Nature Communications!
IGF1R as druggable target mediating PI3K-δ inhibitor resistance in a murine model of chronic lymphocytic leukemia
With this article in Blood, we just published the results of our very first Illumina next-generation sequencing (NGS) analysis of murine leukemia.
ASH 2018 conference in San Diego
I got to present getITD, the analysis program I developed for the detection of FLT3 internal tandem duplications (ITDs), and first results from our validation experiments in San Diego at the annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology (ASH)! Susanne Lux presented our most recent work on circular RNAs (circRNAs) in acute myeloid leukemia, with a special focus on patients carrying splicing factor mutations, and Dr. Frank Rücker presented our cooperation project with Novartis, where getITD was used to characterize the FLT3-ITD landscape and prognostic relevance in nearly 500 AML patients.
Invited talk at the Charité Cancer NGS Jour Fixe in Berlin
Today I was invited to present our work-in-progress on the FLT3-ITD detection project at the CANCER NGS JOUR FIXE, which is organized on a monthly basis by the Charité Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCCC) in Berlin.
Resting cells rely on the DNA helicase component MCM2 to build cilia
This paper here, just published in Nucleic Acids Research, goes back a very long time to when I was still working as a wet-lab student research assistant during my bachelor studies of Molecular Medicine.
Talk at AMLSG meeting in Hamburg
Today I presented preliminary results of the FLT3-ITD monitoring project and the getITD program that I am developing for the respective analysis at the acute myeloid leukemia study group (AMLSG) meeting in Hamburg.
Chromothripsis Is Linked To TP53 Alteration, Cell Cycle Impairment, And Dismal Outcome In Acute Myeloid Leukemia With Complex Karyotype
Our study on chromosome shattering in acute myeloid leukemia (AML), so-called chromothripsis, got published in Haematologica!
Partitioned learning of deep Boltzmann machines for SNP data
This paper here was published in Bioinformatics in a cooperation with Prof. Harald Binder from the Institute of Medical Biometry and Statistics (IMBI) at the university of Freiburg, Germany.
Circular RNAs Of The Nucleophosmin (NPM1) Gene In Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Our study of circular RNA isoforms of the NPM1 gene in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has just been published to Haematologica!
Heterodimerization of AML1/ETO with CBFβ is required for leukemogenesis but not for myeloproliferation
Just published as an original article in Leukemia are now the results from a cooperative study involving several of the groups of the SFB 1074 project at Ulm University, which we are also a member of.
First conference ever: Genome Informatics 2016 in Hinxton, UK
I was awarded a bursary to waive 50% of the conference registration fee and thus allowed to present my master thesis as a poster presentation at the Genome Informatics conference in Hinxton, UK.
BiTrinA - multiscale binarization and trinarization with quality analysis
BiTrinA got published in Bioinformatics! My contribution to this paper and the therein described R package BiTrinA goes back to my student research assistant job at the Medical Systems Biology group of Prof. Hans Kestler, again at Ulm University.
Phenotypic regulation of the sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor Miles Apart by GRK2
This paper, which was published in Biochemistry, came out of my very first internship and subsequent student research assistant job at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Ulm University.
